Akira Kurosawa
Nacido el 23 de marzo de 1910 en Tokio. Fue el séptimo hijo de una familia de clase media con padre ex militar. No pudo terminar sus estudios de pintura y empezó a ganarse la vida realizando carteles e ilustraciones. Se inició en el cine como ayudante de dirección en la productora PCL, posteriormente absorbida por TOHO. Murió el 6 de septiembre de 1998 en la capital japonesa.
